Article 1: Hornby
This
article has been my favorite reading assignment for this class so far. Between the casual, laid-back writing
style and the explicit vocabulary used in this story, it was a much more
interesting read than the other articles. One thing that I found surprising
about this article is when Dave is talking about art galleries. Considering the
type of class this is I was certainly not expecting that kind of response. Lastly,
I liked that Dave’s initial reaction towards the painting was the same as his
wife’s, disgusted. But by the end of the story he grew to appreciate the
picture and even thought it was clever.
One of
the only things that I didn’t like about this article is that he didn’t really
describe how people, other than himself, reacted towards the picture. He didn’t
even make it clear that they noticed the true nature of the artwork.
