Blog Post #3



Article 1: Walker
One thing that I agreed with in the article Big Ideas and Artmaking is the concept that if an artist isn’t interested in their artwork then it simply becomes an “exercise in problem solving.”
                One idea that I do not agree with in the article is when they say that a big idea “drives” and artists work over time. This may be true in some cases, but I feel that in a lot of abstract art pieces the idea or meaning of the artwork is made after the piece is finished.

Article 2: Barrett
                One thing that I agreed with in this article is the idea that denotations and connotations of artwork can go far beyond what the artist intended. Everyone responds differently to different art pieces, and something that might be overlooked by the artist could possibly be considered offensive to others.
                Having said that, one think that I do not agree with is the “over-analyzing” of completely random details, like taped hands in football.
