Blog Post #2

Article 1: Kidd
After reading the first article by Kidd, the thing that interests me most is the idea of a fourth and fifth dimension. I think that this appeals to me more than anything else because it is something that we cannot fathom given the limitations of our society.
One thing that I didn’t like about this article was the idea that reading top to bottom is counterproductive because society as a whole “builds up.” I have no idea why that would factor into the way humans write and communicate with each other.

Article 2: Hickey
After reading the second article, one thing that stands out to me is the idea that as the game has evolved, so has the rules.
One thing that I completely did not agree with in the article is the idea that all the changes that have been made to art have made art less enjoyable and articulate. Art hasn't changed, society has. Between television, video games, and other forms of entertainment, art has become less appealing, and less understood.

Article 3: Weschler Uncanny
One thing that I found interesting about this article is the n-sided polygon. Looking at these different shapes on a flat piece of paper, it would appear that the more sides that are added the closer the same resemble a circle. Our eyes deceive us into thinking that it is getting closer and closer to a circle when in fact, due to the definition of a circle, the opposite is true.
One thing that I did not like about the third article is the idea that no matter how close these animators get to creating the “perfect face” they will never reach their goal. Once these animators have figured out every muscle movement and facial expression capable for a human, why wouldn’t they be able to construct the perfect digital face?
