Article 1: Ono
One
thing that I find interesting about this article is the idea that even though
her artwork makes no sense, and most people (as well as fellow artists) don’t even
believe she is a legitimate artist, she is still famous. I don’t entirely agree
with what Lisa Carver is saying about “needing her” and having too much stuff
already, but I do find it interesting that Yoko Ono has, in a way, redefined
art.
One
thing that I don’t understand about this article is that Lisa Carver says that “her
stuff is all wrong,” and that she cannot obey the “club rules.” I wasn’t aware
that there is a correct way to create art. Also, I haven’t seen her work for
myself but I don’t understand what could be wrong about it. I’ve seen a lot of
artwork that I perceived as being “wrong” but were acceptable in the art
community.
